At the age of 45 after years of frustrating and debilitating pain due to scoliosis, I discovered yoga and began to find some relief. By chance I was introduced to the Iyengar Yoga system, which made a profound difference to my body - banishing the pain and giving me a renewed energy and passion for life.
This energy and passion carried me forward to want to bring the benefits of this practice to others. I began teacher training in the Iyengar Yoga practice gaining my first certification in 2011. I continue to do development training with senior New Zealand and Australian teachers and I have recently returned from Pune India where I spent a month at the Iyengar Institute.

Iyengar Yoga practice opens up the awareness of mind and body. Strength and flexibility are created with attention to correct alignment, through specific sequences of asana (postures).
The benefits of yoga are available to all, regardless of age, weight, fitness or flexibility. A regular practice can assist your body to heal and will transform your life.
The use of teaching aids (bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps) allows the asana to be adapted to individuals physical needs.
